Dye sublimation prints:
Dye-sublimation dyes are applied to the
paper in gas form. They do not form distinct dots with a hard
edge like inkjet printers. Instead, the edges are softer and
blend into each other easily. Dye-sublimation printing produces
an excellent color gamut. The dye is transparent and colors are
laid on top of each other, producing true solid color gradients.
The dye-sublimation printer is capable of heating its thermal
elements to 256 different levels and can produce 256 different
shades of each color, for a total of 16.8 million different
colors in its gamut.
Inkjet prints:
Prints are made using the finest premium
photographic paper using an Epson R2400 printer with Ultrachrome K3
pigment inks (prints up to 13”x19”). Prints larger than 13”x19”
(up to 24” x36”) are printed using an HP Designjet 130 printer
with genuine HP inks. Both printers produce prints with
brilliant, saturated colors, a full range of gray tones, pure
black and nice shadow detail.
